Love Offering
Blessed are those whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the Lord their God. He is the Maker of heaven and earth, the sea, and everything in them— He remains faithful forever. He upholds the cause of the oppressed and gives food to the hungry. The Lord sets prisoners free, the Lord gives sight to the blind, the Lord lifts up those who are bowed down, the Lord loves the righteous. The Lord watches over the foreigner and sustains the fatherless and the widow.

Dear Watermark Family:
Psalm 146 invites us to consider God’s heart of justice; One who has a particular love for the poor and marginalised of society. When Jesus calls us to be with Him, be like Him, and do the things He did, that includes sharing in His love for justice. As we reflect on the blessing of knowing God and experiencing His incredible faithfulness to us, we are preparing to respond to that faithfulness in our annual Love Offering.
If you’re unfamiliar with the Love Offering, it’s a special collection that we take once a year for our missional justice partners: Inner City Ministries, Sons & Daughters, and YoungLives (a ministry of Young Life). These ministries are devoted to reaching some of the most marginalised parts of Hong Kong: the Nepali community, red-light districts, and teen moms. To find out more about them, check out the back of this letter.
Throughout the month of March, leaders of each organisation will also attend our Sunday services to share about what God has been doing in their ministries, as well as the vision for the upcoming year. We really encourage you to join us and hear firsthand about God’s faithfulness amidst the darkest places of our city.
In the meantime, please begin praying about how God might be calling you to give sacrificially and cheerfully in addition to your regular church offering. The collection period will run through to the last week of March, but you’re welcome to give any time before that, using the channels listed on the back.
May God use the money He has given to us to glorify Himself, and advance His kingdom of mercy and justice here in Hong Kong. May our hearts beat with the same love and compassion for others that our Lord Jesus has shown us!

Ways to give:
Cash: Use the enclosed Love Offering envelope. Put it in an offering box on Sunday (if we are gathering in person), or drop it off at the Community Centre.
Cheque: Make cheque payable to “Watermark Community Church Ltd.” and indicate that the donation is for the Love Offering (please use a different cheque from any regular offering). If we are gathering in person on Sundays, you can use the offering boxes. You can also mail it to, or drop it off at, the Community Centre.
Bank Deposit/Transfer: Use HSBC Account No. 848 721 262 838 (note that this is different from the regular offering account) and email finance@watermarkchurch.hk to indicate that this donation is for the Love Offering.
